A postman’s daily route is an odyssey of illusions and dreams that surge from the extraordinary parcels he carries on the back of his bicycle. As the secret of each parcel is uncovered, he reveals a fanciful continent, a fantasy of holidays, and an atmosphere of uninhibited games set against a background of palm trees and ocean. The images unleashed from these carefully wrapped packages will transport the audience from the jungle, to the circus, to a world full of sharks, mermaids, and tropical birds. Warm, funny and poetic, The Postman is a living postcard sure to unleash the imagination. www.velotheatre.com

Once upon a time, there was a dejected misfit who grew into the most glorious creature of them all. Little Red Theatre retells the fable through seasons and film media touching on themes of acceptance, loneliness and self-discovery.

Based on an Inuit Folktale, A Promise is a Promise tells the adventure of Allashua, a young girl who promised her parents she would not go fishing by the sea because deep under the Arctic Ocean lives the Quallupilluit, a monster who steals children into her underwater world. But Allashua breaks her promise to her parents, and now must make another promise to the Quallupilluit. Using masks, music and dance – and a few willing kids out of the audience – Geordie brings back its best loved production of all time so that a new generation can share the magic of Robert Munsch's story.

Curriculum Connections: Oral Storytelling, Masks, Mechanics of Inuktitut Language, Nunavut Geography, Social Studies, Dance, Drumming, Family Relationships
