VOLUNTEER INFORMATION - HOW CAN YOU HELP?

If you enjoy working with children, come share the excitement of the Children’s Festival as a volunteer.

 

At the Market

Set up June 3rd only:
- loading and unloading truck
- moving, arranging, lifting items (may be at Festival Office, Market or Theatre)
- organizing for venues /community partners including setting up

Set up Daily:
- check in daily with site coordinator for directions on daily events
- lifting, moving, delivering supplies, and other necessary items

Volunteer Zone:
- volunteer sign-in area before each shift
- volunteer ident buttons handed out
- instructions or shift information
- Lost and Found items returned here
- Central area for Festival
- Sale of Festival items

Hospitality Area:
- set up snacks for the day
- refill snacks as needed
- clean up area regularly

Information Stations:
- hand out site maps
- answer questions
- give direction
- sale of Festival Items

Runners:
- run between venues as needed
- deliver supplies and deliveries
- communicate with site coordinators/volunteer coordinator
- fill in for breaks

Story Dragon Helper:
- assist site-coordinator
- make sure schedule of readers is up, basket of books is available
- assist readers
- report any problems to site coordinator (eg. Reader doesn’t show up)

Face Painting:
- use your creative skills to face paint
- keep area clean Arts Activities
- assist presenter with activities
- keep area clean

Clean up:
- picking up garbage
- putting away supplies and other necessary items
- daily duties as needed

Site Coordinator:
- make sure festival activity runs smoothly
- supervise volunteers
- communicate with runners
- coordinate breaks

Take Down June 10th and or June 11th:
- assist with the taking-down of tents, tables chairs, etc.
- all items to be packed and returned to the Campbell’s truck
- loading truck to return items to the Festival storage
- putting supplies, etc. back I Festival storage

 


At Theatres

Site Coordinator:
- make sure shows run smoothly
- assign duties to usher, ticket taker
- post signs, posters, etc.
- maintain house reports, cash box, tickets
- report any problems to Box Office Manager
- selling of artist merchandise if needed

Ticket Taker:
- Take tickets @ door and verify with house reports
- Sell tickets if instructed by Site Coor.
- Act as usher if needed

Usher:
- bring audience into theatres and to their seats
- may need to assist performer

Host:
- after each performance, walk groups from venue/theatre to Covent Garden market

Set-up:
- assist performers
- assist technician if needed
