Cake and I Scream is the story of Hank and Shirley, two people trying their hands at opening a brand new restaurant. There's only one problem, it's right next to an amusement park! Hank and Shirley are a little worried about competing with all the fun next door, until they hit on a plan to make their restaurant every bit as entertaining as the rides and games at the amusement park. Yes, they're spicing it up and we're not talking about the food! The main dish is on fire, the plates are spinning and the spaghetti is flying! The big question is - will Hank and Shirley's crazy inventions and wild antics make their restaurant a success? Of course! This is a comedy!

Our free outdoor stage features a wide variety of performances by community entertainers including many school groups.  We’re sure you will be singing along and tapping your toes and have a great old time as you enjoy dance, song, humour and so much more!  Performances run all day so check our posted schedule when you arrive so you don’t miss a thing.

International Story Dragon

Our Story Dragon lives in a quiet home where children and adults can sit down and listen to fairytales, myths, and adventure stories from around the world. No matter your age, you will delight in meeting our celebrity story readers who all have great tales to tell.

Colour, Play, Use your Imagination at the Scholar’s Choice Activity Centre and make your own work of art to take home.

Free Arts Activities presented by our Community Partners provide lots and lots of fun all day long!

Be sure you pick up your Passport at the Festival’s Information booth so you’ll know where each of the exciting activities takes place.  Get your face painted.

Site Artists

Watch out – you never know where one of our wandering artists will turn up to make your day even more special.  Watch for jugglers, musicians, magicians and be prepared to laugh and enjoy!

Pick up your Family Art Day Passport there.

FAMILY WASHROOMS
Washrooms can be found upstairs and on the main floor in the Market.

GOT A BOO BOO?
It’s never fun to hurt yourself, but if you do, just talk to one of our volunteers and they will take you to our friendly First Aid Staff.

SPECIAL NEEDS FRIENDLY
There is wheelchair and stroller access to all our entertainment.

LOST & FOUND
Lost someone or something? Found someone or something? Come to the Information booth. Please make sure to tell your kids to ask a volunteer for help if they need it.

PARKING
Lots of parking is available at Covent Garden Market and you can validate your parking ticket for 2 hours free parking on weekends. 
You can also park at street meters and other downtown parking lots, including Citi Plaza, just a short distance east of the Market.

FOOD
All kinds of healthy food and treats are available indoors at the Market– Enjoy!!
